Dinner Date

November 12th I made Dakotah and myself a nice fancy meal for a little dinner date. I know this might seem silly because really I cook a lot of the time. But even when you cook every day it doesn't mean it is a nice fancy type meal or even a date type meal, even if you are the only two people there and sitting in the same room while you eat it doesn't make it a date. I feel that a date has actual thought that goes into it and meaning. So I wanted to make kind of our own little private dinner date (at least one more time before baby comes) at our nice new dinning room table (since most the time we eat on the couch in front of the TV). So we had a good dinner and nice talk and then watched a movie and cuddled after. It was a great night! One thing I loved about it is even though there was thought that went into it, it really didn't take long or much work to make the meal or clean up after. So I wanted to share my easy date night dinner with you. I made One-Dish Chicken & Rice Bake, served with Frozen Mixed Vegetables, Rolls, and Sparkling White Grape for the drink.

One-Dish Chicken & Rice Bake
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 cup Water
3/4 cup Uncooked white rice
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 skinless, boneless Chicken Breast Halves (about 1 pound)
*For creamier rice, increase water to 1 1/3 cup

1. In 2-quart shallow baking dish mix soup, water, rice, paprika, and pepper. Place chicken on rice mixture. Sprinkle with additional paprika and pepper. Cover.
2. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink and rice is done.
Makes 4 servings, Prep Time: 5 minutes, Cook Time: 45 minutes.

Our New House

It didn't take as long to find our new home as I thought it would. But it was a long waiting game to make sure everything would go through. After waiting what felt like forever but was like a month and a half we finally got our home!!It is 1904 sq. ft. and has 4 bedrooms. 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs. There are 2 bathrooms. One up, and one down. There is also a Living room upstairs and a family room downstairs. It has a big beautiful kitchen and a dinning room. It also has a big laundry/utility/storage room downstairs. Our home has a 2 car garage and a third one car garage attached to that. it also has a storage shed out back and the back yard is fenced in.

While we loved the house there were a few things we wanted to change. We wanted to change the color/walls of the whole upstairs. It took us about 4 days and about 9 people helping us to finally get our upstairs painted and put together. The Master Bedroom was the most work. First we had to remove the wall paper.

Before we removed the wall paper

So after removing wall paper we painted the whole room an Orange Brick color, which I ended up hating. It made the room feel small and dark.
Attempt one at repainting.
So we left one of the walls the red and repainted the others white.

We love finally having a closet that we can fit all of our things into, instead of having to use 2 different ones.

We also removed wall paper that was at the end of the hallway

We painted the Hallway, Living room, and Kitchen all the same color, called Arabian Sand, to help give the upstairs a little warmth. It was all a whiteish color that had a hint of blue in it and the living room had a baby blue accent wall which made the room feel old,

We painted the upstairs bathroom a color called Hope Chest which is a grayish color.

The last room upstairs to be taken care of was the baby's room. We painted over some flowers by painting the accent wall in the baby's room white and we painted the floor boards white in that room.

Down stairs in our laundry/utility room we use under the stairs in there to store our camping things and then the rest of the extra space is the dogs room and my craft room. It is so much fun and so nice to have a craft area. Also to have the dogs in their own room is great!

Also I forgot about the dinning room which is upstairs. We removed a flower wall paper and put up a chair rail

So our new house took a little work to get it to look the way we wanted. But in the end it was well worth it. It has been so great being in our own home. I don't know what I like best: knowing that the money we are paying each month wont just disappear after we move like renting does, having an area in the house for the dogs other than my room,  having a fenced back yard I can let the dogs out into, a closet that fits all our stuff so it can be in one room, having a real dinning room table, or a big kitchen, or maybe its a garage to put our cars in. All I know is I feel very blessed and lucky that we found this house.
In our back yard after we moved in we discovered that we had a Black Wasp Beehive in one of our trees. And while it looks really cool it is also scary having it in our yard so we are removing it.

So far this has been the adventures of our new home and we are glad we did it, but we are glad it's done. We love our new home!!!!

I think I have finally flipped

Okay when I first found out I was pregnant I would have the weirdest dreams that I was a 9 month pregnant ninja. I was kind of like Spider Man I would go and help fight the bad guys in a tight black suit and a black mask. Yes I was fighting bad guys with a 9 month prego belly. But last night Nov. 20th really topped those weird dreams. I dreamed I was a nursery teacher but in a school like a preschool/daycare and I had to take care of really spoiled rotted kids. They were big brats. They kept breaking the toys and making a mess and every time I’d clean up the toys they’d pull them out again. Then all the sudden I was 9 months pregnant and in labor. I was sitting in a chair at a desk in the nursery room and I looked to my left and there was a doctor wearing a mask, cap, and cloves. He said “let’s check you out little lady” and then all the kids in the room disappeared. He checked me and then said “you can’t have the baby because of complications I’m afraid we are going to have to do a C-section.” So they next thing the doctor is saying that the C-section went really well and it was easy to get the baby out because I had a big forehead. This is when I realized that even though I was having pain in my abdomen the C-section was preformed through my forehead. So weird. The doctor than says “we will let you hold the baby before we get the baby all cleaned up” so I look over to the doctor who is handing me the baby and the doctor has turned in to my mom. And all the sudden I’m lying in a hospital bed in the same room. She hands me a baby that looked at least three months old and had curly hair with a headband and a bow in it. The baby was covered in cute little fatty rolls. (It was one chubby baby) and it was a girl. WHAT? I am not pregnant with a girl. But that’s what the doctor aka my mom handed me. I looked so confused in my dream. Then while I’m holding the baby my mom starts talking to one of the other teachers I was working with (who all the sudden appeared) and my mom is saying that the C-section went great. And that while she had cut the incision in Dakotah’s forehead to see why he was having so much pain she found a very rare cancer just as she had suspected she’d find. And while she is telling this other teacher this all sudden the room changes to a hospital room and I’m standing in a corner and Dakotah is lying in the hospital bed. This lady I was supposed to be working with then tells my mom that she thinks that my mom has found her true calling which is to predict and treat this rare cancer. What? Then I woke up. Thank heaven. This was way too much crazy for me. I think I flipped. I just hope I don’t have any more really crazy dreams. lol
